EWOT Has Evolved.
Most Systems Haven’t.
Traditional EWOT delivers oxygen during exercise. That’s where it stops. LiveO2’s Adaptive Contrast goes further — switching between high and low oxygen in a single session to produce results oxygen-only systems simply can’t match.
Background
What Is EWOT — and Why It Was a Breakthrough
Exercise With Oxygen Therapy (EWOT) combines physical movement with supplemental oxygen to dramatically accelerate oxygen delivery to cells. LiveO2 pioneered mainstream EWOT over 15 years ago — making a clinical-grade wellness tool accessible for home use. But after years of use, a critical limitation emerged: oxygen alone isn’t enough.
The Problem
The Paradox Nobody Talks About
Breathing pure oxygen during exercise actually limits how hard you can push. The body senses oxygen excess and reduces the drive to breathe — capping heart rate at around 140 BPM instead of the 170+ an athlete can normally reach. More oxygen in the air doesn’t automatically mean more oxygen reaching your cells.
6 Limitations of Standard EWOT
Heart Rate Cap
Pure O₂ limits max heart rate to ~140 BPM vs. 170+ normally
Results Plateau Quickly
No hypoxic variation means adaptation stalls after initial gains
No EPO Stimulation
Only hypoxic conditions trigger erythropoietin production
One-Dimensional
Oxygenation only — no comprehensive cardiovascular adaptation
Fixed Concentration
Can’t adjust for individual goals or altitude simulation
No Cognitive Boost
Hypoxic states drive neuroplasticity — oxygen-only systems miss this
The Solution
The Switch That Changes Everything
Adaptive Contrast moves between high oxygen (hyperoxic) and low oxygen (hypoxic) environments within a single session. The contrast forces a powerful physiological response that oxygen-only therapy simply cannot produce.
