Clinic Support Training

Basic Product Use Training

Why positive pressure EWOT systems are counterproductive for your health.

The Aging Lung

Like any body part, your lungs gradually lose strength and resilience as we age. A decrease in lung function means not enough oxygen can enter the bloodstream.

This results in an increased risk of developing various health conditions and decreased energy. The older we get the less efficient our lungs are, as you can see by the chart below. *

"Effect of aging on respiratory system physiology and immunology - NCBI." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2695176/. Accessed 22 May. 2019.

At LiveO2, our guiding principle is to improve the effectiveness of our system hardware and training to improve your overall health. Every decision we make works to further this goal.

When we explored the efficacy of adding a positive pressure feature to our system we could not find any supporting research to show how this would benefit the end user.

In fact, we have found that adding positive pressure can have negative effects on the overall health of the end user. We have elected for a neutral pressure system as default and have created restrictor pucks that can be added to premium masks.

The restrictor picks gradually reduce the flow for users that would like to increase their respiratory strength.

Reservoir construction

Integrated design

We produce the highest quality reservoir system on the market with a fully integrated design that combines the oxygen reservoir, altitude reservoir, and valve system into one streamlined unit.

This simplifies the user experience as it has the least amount of external connections. Our valving system and switching mechanisms are designed specifically for this purpose and created in our manufacturing facility in Colorado.

By creating a self-contained system we eliminate the need to mount bulky valves to exercise equipment and run multiple breather hoses to separate reservoirs bags.

Internal valve and switch

The internal valving system allows for a small remote actuated switch to be mounted to the exercise equipment for switching from full oxygen to high-altitude air, this is similar to a shifter on a bike. The remote switch has embedded magnets that have two purposes:

  1. 1
The magnets ensure the switch securely snaps into the +O2 and -O2 positions.
  2. 2
The magnets allow for easy and secure mounting of the switch to any metallic surface
