What is LiveO2 compared to Hyperbaric?

  1. Hyperbaric is a passive treatment system. The user is placed in a pressurized vessel for a time exceeding 1 hour. 
    1. Tissue Oxygen delivery is proportional to the pressure created by the chamber because tissue absent good circulation relies on tissue oxygen diffusion. 
    2. Lung Oxygen Delivery is proportional to the O2 mixture the person breathes times the pressure of the chamber. Lung and tissue levels differ but tissue 
    3. HBOT is a medical treatment system:
      1. User is captive – cannot quickly escape;
      2. Rapid pressure changes can cause discomfort or injury;
      3.   Medical supervision is required because of risks.
    4. HBOT is ideal for people incapable or averse to physical exertion.
  2. LiveO2 is an active training system. A user exercises wearing a mask that delivers an air mixture with alternating high and low oxygen concentrations.
    1. Tissue Oxygen Delivery is proportional to the product of the vascular flow (proportional to heart rate during exercise) times the oxygen level at peak vascular flow;
      1. Exertion under low oxygen maximizes vascular flow, subsequently switching to high oxygen to recover maximizes oxygen;
      2. Simultaneously maximums occur when the user switches from low to high oxygen to recover;
      3. LiveO2 benefit varies proportional to the level of exertion level. 
    2. Lung Oxygen Delivery varies from about 14% to about 80% by switching from -O2 to +O2. No direct comparison to HBOT is possible.
    3. LiveO2 is an exercise/training system.
    4. LiveO2 is preferable to individuals who prefer active/exercise as a method of delivering oxygen to their tissue;
    5. LiveO2 DOES NOT WORK absent exercise – HBOT does.
  3. Medical HBOT versus LiveO2 Training:
    1. Captive in a pressurized vessel vs Free exercise on a trainer with a mask;
    2. 1+ hour stationary versus 15 minutes of active exercise;
    3. Resting Pulse versus Active Pulse during exercise;
    4. Oxygen in Lungs vs High Oxygen in Tissue.
  4. LiveO2 Tissue Oxygen (Ardenne) vs HBOT compared  creates a plasma oxygen concentration of at least 6x normal (Ardenne). HBOT creates blood plasma oxygen level proportional to the air pressure in the chamber:
    1. At least 6x for LiveO2 depending on training variant compared
    2. 3.75x the plasma O2 pressure of Soft-side HBOT. These operate at 1.6 ATM 
    3. 1-2X the plasma O2 pressure of Medical Hard-side HBOT Chambers. These operate at 2-3 ATM 
    4. Higher tissue oxygen creates more result in less time and fewer sessions
    5. 15 min vs hours
  5. LiveO2 is athletic training because the person must exercise while breathing an air mixture with increased oxygen.
  6. LiveO2 does NOT work unless the user does something to increase the heart and respiration;
  7. syHealth improvements usually noticeable within 1 week
  8. Men gain about 50 watts aerobic output, a 20 year rollback in performance age
